This site's definition of a
fighter pilot grabs your attention. "A fighter pilot is noted
for intelligence, independence, integrity, courage, and
patriotism. "Fighter Pilot" is a state of mind, not a job
title. Therefore, not all people who fly fighters are fighter
pilots, nor do all fighter pilots fly fighters, some of them
drive trucks."

This site proclaims itself to be the home of the greatest
fighter pilots in the world. (Since it it deals with folks who
flew F-100s, there's no argument there ...) The site reflects
its motto well: If you don't know who the world's greatest fighter
pilot is... It ain't you!!

If you want the details of the
F-100 histories by serial number, this is your site. Detail
oriented. Excellent F-100 coverage.

This web site is dedicated to
radio controlled scale jets. The F-100D is particularly
well done and is shown in a variety of colors. The model
is 83.5 inches long and it has been reverse-engineered
from a real F-100D, so it is very accurate. Powered by a
real fan jet engine. |
A great F-100 photo site with good
links to other sites. Scott Vanaken's website leads you
to a large number of good F-100 photos.

This Air Force Research Center site
at Maxwell AFB, Alabama, is an excellent source for aircraft
research, including the F-100 Super Sabre. Good links to
other sites, too. Very helpful personnel.

A website devoted to the history of a single F-100F, 56-3837,
named "The Ghost." A nice tribute to this airplane.

This website traces the history of the RF-100A, also known as "Slick
Chicks." Not much is known about the six aircraft modified for RF duties
in Europe, other than that they were pulled off the production line at
Los Angeles. The six serial numbers were 53-1545, 53-1546, 53-1547,
53-1548, 53-1551, and 53-1554. Very nice write-up about a little-known
version of the F-100.
