F-100D, serial number 55-3511. The bright paint scheme carried by this aircraft identified the SMAMA (SacraMento Air Material Area) flight test center's aircraft. SMAMA operated this aircraft from McClellan Air Force Base, California, in 1964. (Photo of a 1/48 scale model made by Peter Rob.)
